In about a month, two groups will hit the streets of Washington, D.C., to voice their opinions, reports Vox. On one side, pro-Trump folks attending the “Mother of All Rallies,” and on the other side, the Juggalos, fans of the horror-rap duo Insane Clown Posse, a band that is clearly anti-racist, in what the clown clan is calling the Juggalo March on Washington.
ICP are famous for their disgustingly violent lyrics — being horror-focused rappers, that’s not really surprising. One example is in their song “Halls of Illusions:”
But it’s all good here, come have a beer
I’ll break the top off and, and shove it in your ear
And your death comes wicked, painful and slow
At the hands of Milenko
In terms of their anti-racist lyrics, we can simply look at a couple lines of “Your Rebel Flag:”
Hill billies listening down south
I’m up and I’m headin for the south
Fixin to put a run of buck shot in your mouth
And blow the back of your fuckin neck loose
Hill billies run around like a headless goose
’cause you tried burning down my cross
that’s way racist hatin and hass
You sleep in the barn and you fuck your horse
And the chorus — “Fuck your rebel flag.” So, yeah, their stance on race is pretty clear.
The “Mother of All Rallies” is meant to show support for President Trump, whom many have accused of being racist, stating on their website that “all people regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age or political affiliation are invited.”
The Juggalos, on the other hand, are marching to protest the FBI labeling them as a “gang” in its 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment report.
“Although recognized as a gang in only four states,” the reports says, “many Juggalos subsets exhibit gang-like behavior and engage in criminal activity and violence. Law enforcement officials in at least 21 states have identified criminal Juggalo subsets.”
The Juggalo’s on the other hand have issued lengthy press statements to clear their name, and “deliver a message right into the nerve center of America that the Juggalo Family is not a joke, punchline, or any form of criminal organization.”
So, to recap, fans of a violence-obsessed anti-racist horror-rap group who show “gang-like behavior” and paint their faces like Kiss will be marching at the exact same time as a pro-Trump group who “demand protection for traditional American culture.”
Let’s hope this isn’t another event like what we saw in Charlottesville, Va.
