To be a football player you have to be tough, and to be a fan you have to (at the very least) have thick skin. After a weekend-thrashing (Saturday, November 25) of Texas A&M, a hometown crowd at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, gave the remaining Aggie fans a farewell they won’t forget, reports The Advocate.
With the game safely stowed away, the LSU student section altered lyrics to the popular song “Talkin’ Out Da Side of Ya Neck” by Dem Franchize Boyz that LSU’s marching band has been known to work into games. But instead of saying “Oh oh talkin’ out the side of your neck,” the crowd yelled, “suck that Tiger d*ck b*tch.”
The line echoed throughout the stadium, but to add insult to injury (if you’re an A&M fan) is that it was broadcast on National TV as well. The LSU Athletic Department had once banned the song, but brought it back in 2013 as a parting gift for their opponents.
The LSU Athletic Department did make an attempt to clean up its act, handing out flyers and pamphlets with the tag line “tradition matters.” The idea was to persuade fans that LSU Tigers carry themselves with integrity and class, and that students should consider themselves representatives of the school. Cheerleaders also got in on the campaign, holding signs that read “Keep It Clean.”
Despite the efforts students and the marching band are still using it as a sweet farewell to their rivals and some fans aren’t too pleased. The argument is that it’s a family atmosphere, a place where you should be able to take your kids and not worry about vulgarities.
It’s not the first time college marching bands have had to decide what’s right and what’s not. At this point, the NCAA ought to step in and take an official stance. As of now, however, it seems that the tradition of stupid college kids doing stupid things is here to stay.

UPDATE: There’s a theory going around that former LSU Tiger and current NFL star, Odell Beckham Jr. was in attendance and may have been responsible for instigating the song.
